Welcome to the web site of St. John the Evangelist School in Fenton, Michigan.

St. John School is a K-8 co-educational Catholic school - founded in 1950 - operated by St. John the Evangelist Parish within the authority of the Diocese of Lansing. The school works cooperatively with the other Catholic schools in Genesee County through the Genesee County Catholic Schools (GCCS) organization.

St. John School currently has 488 students in grades K-8, 25 full and part-time certified teachers, and twelve additional staff for educational, food service, custodial, and office support. The school follows State of Michigan and Diocese of Lansing rules, regulations, and curriculum standards. In addition to the core academic subjects of English, Mathematics, Reading, Religion, Science, and Social Studies, we offer Art, Computers, Vocal Music, Physical Education, and Spanish instruction for our students. The school has a part-time counselor and library/media specialist along with a Tutorial teacher who assists students with reading and mathematics.

Students at St. John School have the opportunity to participate in student council, debate, and athletics. Athletic programs include: 7th-8th football, 5th-8th grade boys and girls basketball, 7th-8th girls volleyball, 5th-8th boys baseball, 5th-8th girls softball, 7th-8th grade cross country and track, and spirit squad for grades 6-8. The debate team competes in the local middle school debate league. St. John School also hosts a number of scouting groups for boys and girls after school on Mondays and Thursdays.

In addition to the parish, St. John School is also supported by a highly active parent group (Home School Association) and a foundation (St. John School Educational Foundation). The H.S.A. promotes communication and raises funds to support the school program. The Foundation's mission is to provide long-term financial assistance and help meet short-term goals, like the current Technology Plan.
