What year did you begin teaching? How long have you been teaching at SJE? I began teaching in 1999. I did my student teaching here at St. John the Evangelist and began teaching the following year. This is where I am called to be.
Favorite subjects: My favorite subjects to teach are the ones I found most challenging as a child; reading and math. I appreciate the challenges of learning to read and I hope to help my students find confidence and enjoyment from reading. And science, it’s just fun!
Why I am a teacher: I have always wanted to be a teacher. I love children and I love to learn. I want to make learning fun and exciting for my students.
What I like most about teaching at SJE: Everything! The students, the parents, the staff, they are an extraordinary group of people. But most of all, I like that God is the core of all we think, do, and teach in our school. God is the foundation to all success in life.
How your faith influences teaching: My faith has given me the patience and the understanding that everyone has a story. That each day is a big event and that a tiny word or action may have a huge affect on a child’s day or even their life. My faith has strengthened my understanding that we are all children of God and what we do - matters. Back to Faculty page |
