What year did you begin teaching?
I began my teaching in Canterbury, Connecticut at the Dr. Helen Baldwin School. I was one of three sixth grade teachers. My subjects included three sections of Mathematics, Social Studies, Reading, Spelling, and Health. I moved to Michigan in 1980 so that my husband could pursue his PhD. I was an adjunct lecturer at the University of Michigan - Flint from 1981 - 1999 where I taught several Algebra classes for the Mathematics Department. I also worked in the Computer Science Department for 10 years where I taught several programming classes and Introduction to Computers classes.

Favorite Subjects: Math, Computer Science, and Science.

Why are you a teacher:  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in first grade. I love sharing what I have learnded and knowing that I am working to improve our world by sharing my love of learning with my students, helping them to become productive citizens.

What you like most about teaching at SJE:  The students and the staff. We truly are like a big family. We share our joys and support each other during times of trouble.

How my faith influences my teaching:  I try to emulate the teachings of our Lord each day by showing them how much I care about their academic, social, and spiritual education. I want my students to know that they can always count on me to be there in times of trouble and in times of joy. Showing them they that learning can be rewarding and fun is paramount.
