Position: Fifth grade teacher

Education:
University of Detroit, BA in Humanities and Elementary education.
Graduate credits in reading, from Oakland University.

What year did you begin teaching? How long have you been teaching at SJE?
(1971) I substitute taught here at St. John for 13 years. I taught at St. Valentine school in Redford township for 9 years and then I year at St. Pat's in Brighton, where I was the Art teacher. I began here full time in 5th grade for the past 81/2 years.

Why I am a teacher:
I never thought of being anything else. I love children. I love getting them excited about learning. I look forward to watching them grow and mature into successful young adults.

What I like most about teaching a SJE:
I love my fellow teachers and staff members. It is a pleasure coming to school everyday. The families I have met throughout the years have touched my heart. The children are priceless.

How your faith influences teaching:
I can bring my faith into all subjects that I teach. I hope that my love of God and obedience of the commandments and beatitudes shows through in all my dealings with students and parents.
